Maya Tomarchio

About Me
Hello! I am Maya Tomarchio, a fourth-year computer science student at the University of Cincinnati. At UC, I am an enthusiastic active member of the University Honors program where I have been and will continue to be able to create amazing opportunities for myself to learn new things and widen the range of my education.

One of my biggest passions outside of UC and my studies are the aerial and circus arts, which have provided me with a community for my mental and physical health to flourish. I love to educate and break the stigma around these types of fitness and am a certified pole instructor which has been a great opportunity for me to learn about safety in different physical activity and how to properly rest, recover, and care for different parts of the body. This spring semester 2025, I have created a new student organization at UC registered as Pole it Together. I have created this organization with the goal of providing free pole and other aerial arts class to students as a way to make these classes accessible, so students can experience all the benefits these unique sports have to offer.

I heavily enjoy as well as value learning new skills and seeking out unique experiences. I have found that you can learn the most about yourself in unfamiliar circumstances, which I love to implement in my life by looking for new hobbies and experiences.

This summer 2025 you can find me in Rabat, Morocco and Cairo, Egypt. I will be traveling with UC on a faculty led study abroad to Rabat to study at Qalam Wa Lawh international language institute in May, and working with Dahab Hostel in Cairo on additional website functionality in the month of June.
