About Me

Hello! I am Maya Tomarchio, a fifth-year computer science student at the University of Cincinnati. At UC, I am an enthusiastic active member of the University Honors program where I have been and will continue to be able to create amazing opportunities for myself to learn new things and widen the range of my education.

One of my biggest passions outside of UC and my studies are the aerial and circus arts, which have provided me with a community for my mental and physical health to flourish. I love to educate and break the stigma around these types of fitness and am a certified pole instructor which has been a great opportunity for me to learn about safety in different physical activity and how to properly rest, recover, and care for different parts of the body. This spring semester 2025, I have created a new student organization at UC registered as Pole it Together. I have created this organization with the goal of providing free pole and other aerial arts class to students as a way to make these classes accessible, so students can experience all the benefits these unique sports have to offer.

I heavily enjoy as well as value learning new skills and seeking out unique experiences. I have found that you can learn the most about yourself in unfamiliar circumstances, which I love to implement in my life by looking for new hobbies and experiences.

This summer 2026 you can find me in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala during the Month of May and working remotely (from the USA) for the rest of the summer semester. I am finally attending Spanish School in Lake Atitlan, after many years of Spanish self study. I am excited for the opportunity for a level assesment and some grammar work. Additionally, I will be switching teams within Siemens to work in "simulations" I am ready and thrive in a new environment after working on the software development team this past year.
